Here is an example of adding an axis to modify a layout. Suppose you want to see both units and sales revenues over a period of time plotted on the same chart. You can create an XY chart and define the x-axis as time, and the initial y-axis as units sold. Then you can add a second y-axis to the layout to show sales revenues. To add an axis to a XY chart
1. In the Scenes panel, double-click the chart so that it is displayed in the Scene Editor.
2. Right-click the chart and select Insert Axis from the popup menu to display the Insert New Axis dialog box.
3. Select an alignment from the Alignment list box.
4. Select a scaling option from the Scaling list box.
5. Click OK.
6. Modify axis properties in the Object Inspector, as desired.
