The information held within the sysmaster database can provide a significant insight into what is currently happening within the current engine. However, the major problem is finding where this information is held and how extract it.
Note: Not all the tables used within the sql listed are 'supported' tables i.e. Informix might change their structure in future releases and they do not guarantee version compatibility. The sysmaster.sql file that ships as part of the install set can provide valuable information about the sysmaster database. When interrogating sysmaster try not to use the views that use the bitval operator as these can quickly become relatively expensive.
The menu listing to the left breaks the information into a number of catergories, each of which contain a number of questions and answers. When a question is answered, there maybe an option to 'translate' the result into a format that makes sense in ANOther database, typically DB2 or Oracle. If the option doesn't appear then the translation has not been entered yet.
The default response is always in 'Informix', however when the site has sufficient ANOther Database information additional options will be made available to change the default database for your view into the site.
