What Is a Standard Backup?

A standard backup (onbar -b) is a parallel backup of selected or all storage spaces and the logical logs. In a standard backup, the database server performs a checkpoint for each storage space as it is backed up. Therefore, you must restore the logical logs from a standard backup to make the data consistent. For an example, see Performing a Level-0 Backup of All Storage Spaces.
