Using Character Data Types

The locale affects the collation of built-in SQL character data types:

• Character types that use localized collation: NCHAR and NVARCHAR
• Character types that use code-set order for collation:
  • CHAR
  • LVARCHAR
  • VARCHAR
  • TEXT
