Using the Log Files

You can find information that will help identify and resolve installation errors in two different log files:

• Use the command that launches the installation program with the -log option to log install-related information, as the following example shows:

  ids_install -log log.txt

• The IBM Informix product (for instance, Dynamic Server) creates its own problems file in the following location:

  $INFORMIXDIR/tmp/log.txt
