Preparing the Web Server

If you are running Netscape FastTrack Server, Netscape Enterprise Server, or Microsoft Internet Information Server, the installation program detects it and automatically configures the execution, or ifmx-bin, directory.

Important: If you intend to install Universal Web Connect on a Web server other than a Microsoft or Netscape server, you must shut down the Web server before you start the installation program. Additionally, if you are using another Web server, you must configure the CGI directory and CGI prefix manually after you have completed the installation.
You must configure a document directory for the Universal Web Connect Administration Tool after you have completed the installation. See "Configuring Web Server Directories" for instructions.

After it detects the Web servers on your system, the installation program prepares to support the appropriate middleware. The following table describes the types of Web drivers Universal Web Connect supports.
