Scatter Chart

A type of layout that displays data in a two-dimensional graph in rectangular coordinates. The data points in a scatter chart correspond to two variables. The scatter chart is typically used for statistical analyses, such as correlation studies.

Valid properties for Scatter Chart objects are described in the following table.

Property Data Type Description

Location

Point

x, y coordinates of the center of the plot area bounded by the frame.

PlotAreaWidth

Numeric

Width of the plot area.

PlotAreaHeight

Numeric

Height of the plot area.

When you set properties for Scatter Chart objects, also specify properties for Frame, X Axis, Y Axis, Data Element, Alignment Panel, and Marker objects. The association between a Scatter Chart object and supporting objects is represented in Figure A-11.

Frame

See "Frame".

X Axis

See "Axis (Date/Time and Numerical)".

Y Axis

See "Axis (Date/Time and Numerical)".

Data Element

See "Data Element".

Alignment Panel
