Starting and Administering the Database Server

After you install and configure the database server, you need to perform one or more of the following:

• Preparing to connect to applications.
• Starting the database server and initialize disk space.
• Creating storage spaces.
• Setting up your backup and restore system.
• Performing administrative tasks.
