It is recommended that you use ISA to set up the
SQLHOSTS registry key.
Important:
Use extreme caution with regedt32.
If you make mistakes when editing the registry, you can destroy
the configurations, not only of your IBM Informix products, but
of your other applications.
To set up SQLHOSTS with regedt32
- Run the Windows program, regedt32.
- In the Registry Editor window, select the window for the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree.
- Click the folder icons to select the \SOFTWARE\INFORMIX\ SQLHOSTS branch.
- With the SQLHOSTS key selected, choose Edit > Add Key.

In the Add Key dialog box, type the name
of the database server in the Key Name dialog box.
Leave the Class dialog box blank. Click OK.
- Select the new key that you just made (the key with the database
server name).
- Choose Edit > Add Value.

In the Add Value dialog box, type one
of the fields of the sqlhosts information (HOST, OPTIONS, PROTOCOL, SERVICE)
in the Value Name dialog box.
Do not change the Data Type box. Click OK.

In the String Editor dialog box, type
the value for the field that you selected and click OK.
- Repeat steps 8 and 9 for each field of the sqlhosts information.
Figure 24 illustrates the location
and contents of the SQLHOSTS registry key.
