Event Band Chart

A type of layout that displays a vertical band that represents time intervals for each row returned by a query. The x-axis represents time, and the y-axis represents a numeric variable that can be specified by creating an additional data layer. The event band chart is typically used in conjunction with other data layers to show correlations between temporal events and changes in other data.

Valid properties for Event Band Chart objects are described in the following table.

Property Data Type Description

Location

Point

x, y coordinates of the center of the plot area bounded by the frame.

PlotAreaWidth

Numeric

Width of the plot area.

PlotAreaHeight

Numeric

Height of the plot area.

When you set properties for Event Band Chart objects, you must also specify properties for Frame, Date Axis, Y Axis, Data Element, and Event Band objects. The association between an Event Band Chart object and supporting objects is represented in Figure A-4.

The Event Band Chart object has the following child objects.

Object Properties

Frame

See "Frame".

Date Axis

See "Axis (Date/Time and Numerical)".

Y Axis

See "Axis (Date/Time and Numerical)".

Data Element

See "Data Element".

Event Band
