Oninit® Troubleshooting Guidance
Reasons / Common Causes
-11097 fires when an optional ODBC feature isn't implemented by the driver — per the
official guidance, this is the same as SQLSTATE value HYC00, returnable by a very wide range
of CLI functions (SQLBindCol, SQLBindParameter, SQLBulkOperations, SQLColAttribute,
SQLColumnPrivileges, SQLColumns, SQLDriverConnect, SQLEndTran, SQLExecDirect,
SQLExecute, SQLExtendedFetch, SQLFetch, SQLFetchScroll, SQLForeignKeys,
SQLGetConnectAttr, SQLGetData, SQLGetEnvAttr, SQLGetInfo, SQLGetStmtAttr,
SQLGetTypeInfo, SQLParamData, SQLPrepare, SQLPrimaryKeys, SQLProcedureColumns,
SQLProcedures, SQLSetConnectAttr, SQLSetEnvAttr, SQLSetPos, SQLSetStmtAttr,
SQLSpecialColumns, SQLStatistics, SQLTablePrivileges, and SQLTables).
- An optional ODBC feature the driver doesn't implement, per the official guidance — the direct, only cause.
Solutions / Resolution
- Check driver capability via
SQLGetFunctions()/SQLGetInfo()before relying on the feature, per the official guidance's implication.
Examples
N/A
No specific triggering statement is documented beyond an unimplemented optional feature.
Diagnostic Checks
- Check
SQLGetFunctions()/SQLGetInfo()for the feature's actual support before using it.
