Informix Error -4010: Include file "pathname" is not found.
Cause and resolution
Include file "pathname" is not found.
This INCLUDE statement names a file that the compiler cannot find. If a complete pathname is used, the file does not exist. Check the spelling of all the directories and the filename. If only a filename is given, that file could not be found in the current directory, in $INFORMIXDIR/incl, or in any directory that is specified in a -H compiler argument. Perhaps one of these arguments was omitted or misspelled.
Oninit® Troubleshooting Guidance
Reasons / Common Causes
-4010 fires when an INCLUDE statement names a file the compiler can't find — per the official
guidance, a complete pathname means the file doesn't exist there; a bare filename means it
wasn't found in the current directory, $INFORMIXDIR/incl, or any -H compiler argument
directory.
- A complete pathname that doesn't exist, per the official guidance — the first named case.
- A bare filename not found in the current directory,
$INFORMIXDIR/incl, or any-Hdirectory, per the official guidance — the second named case, possibly from an omitted or misspelled-Hargument.
Solutions / Resolution
- Check the spelling of all directories and the filename, per the official guidance.
- If only a filename was given, check whether a
-Hcompiler argument was omitted or misspelled, per the official guidance.
