Informix HPL message 23203: Cannot Create Shared Memory Message Queue - error %d
Message
Program: onpload
Cannot Create Shared Memory Message Queue - error %d
Placeholders, in order: %d
Oninit® Troubleshooting Guidance
What it means
onpload could not create the shared-memory message queue it uses to pass messages between its processes. %d is the error from the failed system call.
Common causes
- The operating system's shared memory or System V IPC limits are exhausted.
- Leftover IPC objects from an earlier onpload run that crashed.
- The user lacks permission to create the IPC object.
What to do
- Look at
ipcsfor stale segments or queues belonging to the previous run and remove them if no onpload is running. - Raise the kernel IPC limits if needed.
- Rerun the job.
