Informix HPL message 23212: Cannot allocate shared memory
Message
Program: onpload
Cannot allocate shared memory
Oninit® Troubleshooting Guidance
What it means
onpload could not allocate shared memory for its own use.
Common causes
- The OS shared-memory limits are too low or exhausted.
- The sizes in
plconfig(buffer size and number) ask for more than is available.
What to do
- Reduce the buffer sizes or counts in
plconfig, or raise the OS limits. - Remove stale segments left by crashed runs.
