Where this data comes from

The archive combines two historical sources of Informix community discussion. Both are treated as evidence, not truth — see the design principle below.

Usenet: comp.databases.informix

Monthly archive volumes covering 1991–1998 (88 compressed files, one per month), plus a broader export reaching messages into 2013 (≈52,500 messages) sourced from Google Groups' mirror of the newsgroup. Original headers, message IDs, and raw bytes are kept exactly as captured — nothing is rewritten or cleaned in the source files themselves.

IIUG forums & mailing lists

Discussion from the International Informix Users Group (iiug.org) forums and mailing lists (e.g. the ids@iiug.org list), originally captured as HTML pages and converted to structured records (poster, timestamp, subject, body, thread links) for loading.
