I had the same problem and I solved it using Intersolve ODBC 3.01 (I couldn't configure ODBC 2.80). Before you configure 3.01, install NT SP3 to be sure the right ODBC Data Source Administrator (ODBC DSA) is installed. The system error 126 tells you than the ODBC DSA does not find some files, required for Intersolve 3.01. Check in Control Panel /System/Environment that you have PATH variable properly set to your Informix/Bin directory and that the INFORMIXDIR variable is set. I hope it will help, it did here !
