Re: Error with OnBar on NetBackup.

Yes, you can confirm your ALARMPROGRAM variables by placing an "env >
env.out" inside your ALARMPROGRAM script and running the script by
manually switching to the next logical log with a "onmode -l" command.
The basic steps for connecting an Informix instance to Veritas'
NetBackup XBSA API library are:
1. Change the Informix BAR_BSALIB_PATH onconfig variable to point to
the correct VERITAS NetBackup (tm) library name for your host. The
following is a typical example:
BAR_BSALIB_PATH /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/infxbsa.so
An instance stop/start is needed for this configuration parameter to
take effect. Another option is to set what BAR_BSALIB_PATH points to
(i.e. "$INFORMIXDIR/lib/ibsad001.so") to the correct NetBackup library
for you host:
ln -s /usr/openv/netbackup/bin/infxbsa.so $INFORMIXDIR/lib/ibsad001.so
2. Create the $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sm_versions file, to include
information on the VERTIAS NetBackup <Informix> database agent:
1|1.1.1|VERITAS-NetBackup|1
3. Create an "Informix-OnBar" type policy that includes an
"application backup" schedule
4. Set the $INFXBSA_POLICY environmental variable to the name of the
policy created in step #3 above
5. Set the following <Informix> environmental variables that allow one
to run the onbar command:
$INFORMIXDIR
$INFORMIXSERVER
$ONCONFIG
Place "$INFORMIXDIR/bin" in your $PATH
Hope this helps. Good luck.
