Urgent help requested

Just on case somebody is reading the list mail in this moment....
Solaris 9 Sparc... IDS 9.40 FC2 ...
One session issue a query that requested huge memory ammounts. Now
anybody can't work with the database.. I tried to kill process onmode
-z pid, shutdown instance onmode -u, onmode -k, and some other tries but
none of that commands can work.
Any idea of how to kill the session or sutdown the instance.
Thanks a lot
If nothing else works kill -9 the main oninit process (the one with a parent
pid of '1' ). Once all of the oninits are gone, run onmode -ky to remove
shared memory and you should be able to restart normally.

Thanks Art and Ernest.
I didnt want to reach the extreme resource of kill -9. However, thats
what I did, but killed all of the oninit's PID in the same command. ¿is
that even more dangerous?

No, just usually unnecessary that's all. Once you kill the primary oninit
the others will exit.
