Hi Your OS is the culprit. See this extract from the Guide to SQL:Syntax manual. "If your platform does not provide a system call that returns the current time with subsecond precision, the CURRENT function returns a zero for the FRACTION field." If you really need it ... you could play around with the USEOSTIME environment variable which specifies whether to use the OS time (with a system call) or not. But, a key factor is what precision HPUX returns from the command line. If you can't get fractions there ... you've got a problem. HTH Gerry
