Storing Excel/Word docs

Hello all... Anyone had any experience storing MS Excel and Word docs in an IDS db...currently on 9.4fc8 on Aix 5. Just wanting some guidance ... best way to set up the table and column ... ie. byte, blob, lchar etc... storing in row or smart blob space ... and any particular documents on this would also be helpful ..
