Databases and NFS both use lots of i/o. If you do not have lots of
SCSI controlers I would separate the two services or get lots of
i/o channels on one machine to handle both services.
For a one box example, have 2 or more i/o channels for Informix disk arrays
and 2 or more additional i/o channels for NFS disk arrays and 2 or more
network connections to move the data.
