Online 5.1 Restore (tape sequences)

A client has a problem which may require doing a restore from their level 0 archive tapes. Alas, these tapes were not properly labelled, so all we know is that these X tapes are for that level 0 archive. (Yes, I know they should have been more careful, but there it is.) Is there some way to determine what order they should be restored in? Will the restore program tell me when the tape is the wrong one? Will this much things up>`? Any help would be appreciated (the sysad guide just says to insert the first tape, which is, alas, the problem).
