Informix --> SolidDB with Cognos 8 / Report-Net

Good morning, I'm curious if Informix users out there are using Cognos reporting tools. My production IDS engine, under HPUX, is getting beat-up by Cognos reports with large queries, poorly written queries producing Cartesian products, and lots of sequential scans. I was considering SolidDB, in-memory cache database server, to act as the front-end and clone of my IDS databases. Has anyone implemented, or at least tested, SolildDB with Cognos tools for with copies/caches of you Informix databases? Very interested in your experiences. Tack på förhand Jonathan B. SoliDB needs everything to be in core to perform. Also worth to consider is fragmentation and light scans, as this speeds up the sequential scans by a magnitude or better. dic_k -- Richard Kofler SOLID STATE EDV Dienstleistungen GmbH Vienna/Austria/Europe
