will, i've run into the same situation. what i did was created a table with the same schema as the one i wanted to 'audit' but added columns to store the userid, date, time, and transaction type (add,delete,update). prior to performing the disk operation i wrote the entire record out to this table with the appropriate additional fields. this solution works, but does take some extra disk space. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Bob Baskett Motorola, Inc.
