If you have support, see the article in Tech Notes, Volume 3, Issue 2, 1993, at the Informix web site: http://www.informix.com/informix/services/suppserv/pubs/technote/tndx2.htm I got there by searching for "maximum tape size", and then using the "find" feature to search the first returned value, which was the TechNotes Master Index. There is a lot of good information in those TechNotes.
