Hi Reiner Within the Openlink request Broker, there are two wys in which you can specigy User rights. The first can depend on your Operating system log-in. This means that any time a user logs in to the system, it verifies it against the Unix or NT Password file to see if the User is a valid user. Alternatively, this can be turned off and allow access to users who are not Unix users. The second option is based on configuring your Rulebook and giving special rights to users. Within the rulebook, you can specify different settings which will check every connection that is made to the server. For instance, you cn create a group of users e.g. [GROUP 1 Alias] group1 = Adam, Eve, Abel [GROUP 2 Alias] group2 = Cain, Delilah Mapping Rules :*:*:group1:*:*:* = accept generic_inf7 :*:*:group2:*:*:* = reject You are not a valid user :*:*:group2:*:*:RO = accept generic_inf7 This way, you can specify different databases that the user can connect with, the connection can be a RO connection, whatever you desire THis is how you can set up user rights using Openlink and this way, you do not need to touch your Informix Database Emmon Simbo Support Consultant This Reiner Kunz wrote: > > Hi Hannes, > > where do I administrate these user rights?
