inserting records from MS-ACCESS

Help, This is the second attempt at posting so apologies if two messages appear. I am trying to use MS-ACCESS to insert records from an MS-ACCESS table into an Informix table on a UNIX server, using an ODBC. I have a feeling that this is not functionally possible within MS-ACCESS. I can successfully update an Informix table from an MS-ACCESS table, but when I try to insert records the whole query is sent to Informix; so Informix is trying to insert records from an Informix table that does not exist. I was hoping that MS-ACCESS would pass the data to Informix as part of the query. I have tried the export option in MS-ACCESS, but my ODBC does not support this feature. I have a feeling that I will have to generate a delimited text file and FTP it to the UNIX server, which will be a pain as I want to automate the whole thing. Any help would be appreciated.
