Question on HDR
Hi All, Just a question on HDR of Informix.. The scenario is the DB primary server went down. The secondary server is up and running. The replication is fine before the primary shuts down. Here are the questions: 1. Is the Secondary server will function right away as the Primary? If not, how to make it as the primary server?. 2. If network fails, will the secondary server will automatically sync with the primary server once the network is up?
Jack, It depends on what you have DR_AUTO set to and what version of Informix you are running. Depends on whether you want manual or automatic failover.>
For automatic failover you will have to configure DRAUTO=2,
then secondary server will become primary automatically.
For manual failover, you will have to execute
'onmode -d primary <secondary>' command.
