Re: INX_UTIL code generator for Informix 4GL

I'm responding to Tim Schaefer's (inxutil@aol.com) recent postings (scratch that, I mean annoying advertising blurbs) regarding his INX_UTIL code generators. Tim, if you weren't the new kid on the block, and _were_ listed in the Informix catalogs, you would realize that your "facts" are all wrong. I am not paid to sing the praises of other company's products (although, I will if you want to email me directly). We have been using the Windstar Development Tools for only a few short weeks and already have an application in production. > These are the utilities nobody seems to have, and if they did they'd > charge you a fortune for them. The Windstar Tools have every feature you mentioned and a lot more. They give the ability to re-generate code as well as define custom rules to be generated. Our company purchased the Windstar Tools for what we considered to be a very reasonable price. They've already paid for themselves in the development time saved. > - NON-transaction based, but can be modified for transactions The Windstar Tools produce both tranaction and non-transaction code. Unless the application is small and intended for a single user, I don't understand why you would not want to use transactions. Furthermore, it can produce reports that get data from multiple databases. Tim, sorry for bursting your bubble. Being such a creative guy, you should be able to think of other ways to get the word out about your new products.
