Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Sh To asked how to set up the InformixHQ repository. Andreas Seifert said it is an ordinary Informix instance with just a database created, ideally a separate Innovator-C instance, about 4GB for one HDR pair, buffered log, en_us.819. Doug Lawry recommended 5-minute sensor frequency, needing around 100MB per agent with 30-day retention. Sh To was satisfied.

Hello,
Yes, a repository DB is necessary. It is best to use your own Innovator-C instance for this. Then the productive instance is not stressed and it remains free. The Developer Edition reaches its session limit with 3 monitored instances. Whether this is okay from a licensing point of view is debatable. Unfortunately, IBM has not yet commented on how a repository server only for InformixHQ is to be evaluated license-wise.
In my configuration (one monitored HDR pair) - I need about 4GB storage for the repository.
I hope this helps.

Hello Sh To,
The repository is a normal Informix instance. Only the database needs to be created. InformixHQ creates the tables itself.
My database runs fine with buffered log and DB_LOCALE en_us.819

Most of your questions have been answered while I was away for a few days, but there is some additional input here:

We recommend reducing sensor frequency to 5 minutes. With the default retention of 30 days, your database will then only need around 100MB per HQ agent.
