Is there any advantage to having a detached index when one is not trying to follow any sort of fragmentation plan. Being new to Informix I inadvertently created a detached index. It doesn't seem to hurt anything but I can't see that it helps either. Any opinions out there? (An unnecessary question I suppose) Thanks.
