Hi Neil,
How are u running the onpload. Are you using ipload or onpladm?
If that is the case then we might not be passing these environment
varaibles to onpload.
If onpload is being used to run the job then I see not reason why we do=
not
pickup the PDQPRIORITY=3D1 variable.
Regards,
Pravin.

IDS 9.40FC3W2 on HP-UX11.11
I'm running an onpload (HPL) run job which is loading 35m rows to a tab=
le
then enabling the indexes. The index "enable", which I understand to b=
e an
ordinary build in a different jacket, is taking much longer than I'd
expect.
I can see from the marvellous new onstat -g env facility that PDQPRIORI=
TY
and PSORT_DBTEMP env variables have not been picked up by the onpload,
which
I conclude is responsible for the slowness. If I then just run the
re-enable SQL as ordinary SQL from the same shell the variables are pic=
ked
up (you can see this from the output below).
Obviously running the index separately is a straigtforward workaround w=
hich
isn't that inconvenient. But does anyone know why HPL doesn't pick up =
the
PDQ variables?
thanks
Neil
