Re: Installation Question. Error :25553

Christian, If the Linux version is anything like the versions on other UNIX platforms (like HP/UX), the SQLHOSTS file should be in $INFORMIXDIR/etc, and named simply 'sqlhosts'. This file should contain a line for each connection-type to your server. Each line will have four fields: servername, connection string, hostname, service name. Check out the free documentation on Informix's web-site for more information about these fields. In /etc/services, there should be an entry for a tcp connection to your server. It should have a service name (which matches that fourth field in sqlhosts), and a port number immediately followed by '/tcp'. Informix's web-site documentation talks more about that, too. Kind regards, John Bejarano. Christian Hamel wrote in message ... >Hi. > I've just installed the "free" version of Informix 4GL and Informix SQL >for Linux on my system.
