Makes sense to me but I hope IBM reconsiders that position in light of Sun's AMD-based product line. Solaris + IDS + x86 = solid inexpensive solution :) --Ben

Solaris + IDS + x86 = > solid inexpensive solution :) I had this reply from Fred Ho, Technical Product Manager , IDS Development "Mr. Truby, As you thought, IDS 7 is available for Solaris x86 (32-bits), but not available on the other later versions. Reason has to do with long protracted negotiations with Sun on corporate level licensing of Java and other things .... However, the latest news is that we will indeed start work on such a port with Sun provided hardware. This would be on x86_64 (i.e. Opteron/EM64T). I don't have a delivery date as yet, but do stay tuned for that."
