Database in Exclusive Mode Detailed
Posted in 1993
Sorry to have posted that last one the way it was, I was short of time and needed to get this out. Here is the fixed version .... We are having a problem with the "DATABASE <db-name> EXCLUSIVE" statement. The steps to produce the error are as follows: 1. First Part. A. Prepare a cursor from a construct or otherwise. B. Open cursor C. Foreach Loop on Cursor to insert into a table values needed from cursor. D. Close cursor. E. Prepare Second Cursor from table with new info. F. Open cursor 2. G. Fetch One row at a time and display stuff. H. Close cursor 2. All is great. 2. Second Part. A. DATABASE <db-name> EXCLUSIVE statement executed. B. Some Selects and Updates are done. C. CLOSE DATABASE statment executed. D. DATABASE <db-name> statment executed. All Great again. ( Yes, status checked after every statement ) 3. Third Part. A. Prepare a cursor from a construct or otherwise. B. Open cursor C. Foreach Loop on Cursor to insert into a table values needed from cursor. This is where it is happening on the second time around. We are getting a -410 error. Problem is, it's erroring on an INSERT Statement. ( Verified by status checking ). We are using: INFORMIX-4GL Version 4.10.UC3 INFORMIX-SQL Version 4.10.UC2 INFORMIX-SE Version 4.10.UD2 * Oops, forgot last post for SCO 3.2.2 The database has been verified to be locked and unlocked correctly. Any possible solutions/hints are greatly appreciated. -- Robert Minter Data Systems Support Programmer, Software Development Orange, CA internet: rob@dssmktg.com Tel: 714.771.0454 bangpath: uunet.uu.net!dssmktg!rob Fax: 714.771.3028
