Re: Future of Informix 5?

This is a very pertinent question at this current time. When the IIUG board met recently with INFORMIX staff one of the major concerns raised by INFORMIX was how they can relieve the nightmare they have over this particular issue. They don't want to FORCE users of V5 onto V7 but continued support and maintenance of old releases does give them a number of problems. So, what are the problems with upgrading? I can think of a few but I would invite everybody to send me mail listing why they find it difficult to upgrade. Armed with this information the IIUG board, through its highly successful advocacy program, can communicate the information back to INFORMIX.
