The Informix Dynamic Server v 7.3 (no longer called OnLine) will have a
version of Legato's NetWorker Server product bundled. This product has an
interface called Informix Storage Manager (ISM) that works either via a GUI
or a command line.
ISM comes with several restrictions, designed to keep it from competing with
the Legato full product. Among them:
* A maximum of 4 devices can be configured
* A maximum of 4 onbar commands can be active at any one time
* Juke boxes or auto-changers are not supported (only tape and disk)
* File system archival features are not supported
* Only one, local client is supported (You may not use ISM to perform
backups of remote systems. Legato allows this.)
* The NetWorker scheduler is not used.

ISM can be used for multiple instances of IDS on a local machine.

Hi Malcolm,
AFAIKonbar/ism is installed per host, it will handle multiple instances on
the one box, but it can't do anything remotely - it can't even access remote
tape devices - even ontape can do that:-)
