That should fix your wagon. Not to belabor the point, but I find it difficult to understand your attitude. One of our users made a mistake, which Aerotek as a company and I as the administrator acted as quickly as possible to correct, yet you feel it your responsibility to send me a number of nasty messages, about something I can't possibly monitor 100%. Granted, if Aerotek users made a habit of this and Aerotek as a company took no action, I could see your point. However, I think we responded to this as well as can be expected. I dropped everything else I was doing and tracked down the erring user and corrected the problem. We routinely provide training to our users about proper usage (though obviously a small percentage of people forget or ignore that training, which I can do little to nothing about other than handling it on a case by case basis). We are developing extensive documentation on our intranet to notify users of appropriate usage. I apologized for our user (in fact, not only that, but followed up with info on our actions we are taking to avoid this happening again, notification/apologies to those offended far beyond what is really necessary). We don't have "ways" to "mend" - we simply have a new user who did a bad thing, which we've followed up on and corrected. Aerotek is not a hard core spammer (this is the first time I've heard of any problem of this nature here) - we actively look for ways to prevent this from our company, more so than many others I should say. After all that, you feel it necessary to send further inflamatory email about "fixing our wagon". You should really grow up and get rid of this problem attitude you have. If you have something productive to say, or have any productive, realistic suggestions I can use to prevent this from occuring in the future, I would welcome them. I appreciate your concern over the use of news groups - I don't want to read ours or others ads when I'm trying to find out info about informix or c programming or whatever any more than you do. I wholeheartedly agree with you about the evils of spamming and abuse of Usenet. I just object to your attitude and think you should have realistic expectations on what any administrator can do, and what tools are available to do it with. If occasionally one user out of 4000 does this, and it is corrected within a couple hours, I think we've done pretty well. Again, if you have suggestions or experience with solutions that can help correct this, I'd be more than happy to try them. We should be adult about this and discuss a resolution, not vent without purpose - that does no one any good. -Jeff
