RE: Informix: Informix cooked files filesystem layout

Hello, @Art: I like your idea regarding the filesystem separation. I have another UAT system which is closer to my PROD environment. Of course there are only a handful of users connected but the batch processes that are running on PROD are also executed in UAT and i think i can get a stronger indication of what to implement in PROD. The good news is that support for RHEL8 does not end until 2029 so i think i can make the transition on my UAT first and even let the system run for a few months before deciding on what to do on PROD. I know that i will have to update informix version as well but at this point i would not want to mix the 2 (disk layout transition + informix update). But definitely this is the next task to perform. @David: Yes this is a x86_64 running on xfs filesystems. Since there is support for ext4 filesystems in RHEL9 i think i would create the new filesystems on ext4 just to be on the safe side.
