We use Pyramid mirroring whenever on their platforms, as we find it to be much faster. If you are using lower than a level 5 array, and you want mirroring, I believe you need to use informix mirroring. If you are using a level 5 RAID array, it has internal redundancy, and mirroring is not necessary. In that case, one extra spindle is used for parity, in the same fashion as the fastback/virtual tape technology. -- Naomi Walker (aka N7FSA) naomi@anasazi.com Phoenix, Arizona To get the full value of joy, you must have someone to divide it with. ---Mark Twain
