print problem

Dear friends I work in a big network environment, one of a machine is ICL as a main machine that contain informix online 5.0 and all database. In the client, all user use PC and use kermit as a terminal, so every user can run 4gl program(imformix). However user run report and send a big file from main machine ICL to local PC. Often, the network is down and the report is stop to print, so report is not yet finished. We know because kermit send this file from main machine by character mode without any frow control, so the system may be down. Do any one suggest any ideal to solve this problem ? Our user is not PC experter, They do not accept any education for computer. so the operation of computer must be easy.
