Yes, I just came across the same problem last week, but do not have a workaround yet (I was about to post this problem also). I have found that the same thing happens for the update cursor. Without the <FOR UPDATE>, your select statement will get parallelism; with it, you're allocated resources for parallelism, you're put into the mgm, but the threads are run sequentially. Paul
