Q: NOT NULL & CHECK on the same column ?

Hi all, My question is : if some CHECK constraint is defined on NOT NULL column, what is the order of validation of column value during INSERT/UPDATE ? Is CHECK condition applied before NOT NULL or vise versa ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
