fgl_getkey() ??
Posted in 1993
Here is a question for anyone running Informix-4GL ver 5.00 (if it's available yet) or for anyone at Informix that can take a look at the 4GL source. This is a function I wrote some time ago... Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip /****************************************************************************** * This function waits for a key on the keyboard to be hit and returns an * * INTEGER code for that key. * ******************************************************************************/ extern short eflastkey; fgl_getkey(arg) int arg; { extern short _acckey; short keyhit; eflastkey = ((keyhit = rgetkey()) == _acckey) ? 2016 : keyhit; clrmsg(); retlong((long) eflastkey); return(1); } Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip Here --------- Snip * What is the possibility that Informix will support a function like this in a future release? * What will happen to rgetkey() and clrmsg() in I4GL-5.00? * Will "_acckey" and "eflastkey" still be valid variables in I4GL-5.00? * If rgetkey(), clrmsg(), "_acckey", and "eflastkey" disappear in 5.00, will there be similar replacements? The reason I ask is that my current employer loves my "dynamic" browse functions but isn't all that thrilled by an unsupported, home-grown function that makes calls to un-documented 4GL routines. Any wisdom that you could share with me would be appreciated. Thanks!
