I have problem with float data type in dbaccess. Impossible extract and insert a value. as this do?

You are running an EXTREMELY old version, but, I have never had any trouble using floats in ANY version of Informix starting with SE1.10 right through SE7.24. Please be more specific. What front end tools are you using? ISQL? 4GL? ESQL/C? ESQL/COBOL? (Gee I thing 5.01 still had an ESQL/FORTRAN available?) MS tools like Access? What? Art S. Kagel
