Your main problem, the update stats on procedures with the SPECIFIC keyword,
which dostats uses, is, as Bill Dare points out, a known 9.xx/10.00 bug. I
have an update version of dostats with an option to disable the SPECIFIC
keyword, which I'll send you. Note that if you use that option (-N) there
may be some overloaded functions that will fail to recompile.
Your immediate problem is that you need to quote the asterisk '*' so that
the shell does not expand it to a list of files. When that happens dostats
thinks you want to update stats for a table that has the name of the first
file listed and ignores the rest of the commandline silently (I hate progs
that complain about extra args, just one of my pet peeves - though in this
case it obviously caused some confusion).
Jeff, please send me a valid email address that you monitor so I can forward
the dostats update to you.

The quoting of the asterisk was definitely a Homer "Doh!" moment. But the
SPECIFIC bug was news to me.
Since, of course, I have the dostats source code, I simply removed the
"SPECIFIC" keyword and recompiled. Things are working fine now...
Thanks,
Jeff
