Pb with initialization. System: SUN Solaris 2.6 Informix 7.31

Hello, I'm installing an Informix Dynamic Servr for the first time. I have a problem with initialization of Informix. When running 'oninit -iy' I have this message: "Cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG" I have checked INFORMIXDIR, it's "/opt/informix" (good) and DBLANG is not set. I checked online.log, it only contains: ------------------------------------- Mon Aug 23 17:10:33 1999 17:10:33 Event alarms enabled. ALARMPROG = '/opt/informix/etc/log_full.sh' ------------------------------------- What should I look? I don't know what to try, so I am waiting for any suggestions. Thank you

That is what the engine is looking for! And is INFORMIXDIR exported? Art S.
