RAID Storage and Informix

I'm sure this has been answered before, I've looked through the news groups, but can't find any recent info on the use of RAID with Informix. I've heard that RAID technology has improved lately, but I'm not up to speed. Your thoughts, opinions please... First, the hardware...an IBM RS/6000 R40 AIX 4.2.1 (4CPU's), ~16 4GB disks. I'm running Informix version 5.08, with plans to upgrade to 5.10 soon, and then convert to 7.23 or 7.24 in the future. What I'm unsure of is whether to allow AIX or Informix to do mirroring, or use RAID 0, or use RAID 0+1 and let the hardware handle it (more expensive), or use RAID 5 for hot swap capability (supposedly slower), or what? The system is online during the day, getting few queries and running a few reports. The bulk of the work comes in the evenings, when batches of flat files are processed and large #'s of reports are generated. Same for the weekends...lots of reports.
