simulation problem

Hi all I'm asked in a Database course to implement a simualtor for a simple query processor, and I really can't understand the concept of simulating the query processor and testing it on a DBMS which already has its own query processor. if anyone can help giving me examples for that simulation or at least know tell me a link for a query simulator as an example. Hi, maybe they mean a query generator? You could look at things like benchmark tools. These usually are generating (more or less unique) queries and running them against a database. Look for "TPC-x" (where x can be B, C, H, etc.). Another keyword might be "Dynamic SQL" (at least it is known that way in the Informix part of the database sphere).
