We use Delphi client server with the native drivers and Intersolv's ODBC alot without many problems. It sounds like you need to establish basic connectivity first to the server before you try to get Delphi or an ODBC driver to work. In order to get this to work you must setup the NT workstation properly: 1) Add the service name to the services file located in system32/drivers/etc. This tells the workstation what port the database server will be listening to on the host machine. 2) Setup the Informix connect or I-Net product. 3) Run setnet32 to set the host name, service name, and protocol for a connection. (Make sure the database is running and listening on the right port) I have had problems if I do not set the password using the setnet utility, so set a password for the connection to use. 4) Run the test application that comes with I-Net or Connect, that will tell you if you are making a good connection. I hope this can help.
